The Kenya Animal Genetic Resources Centre (KAGRC) is a state corporation under the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development mandated to produce, preserve, conserve and distribute animal genetic materials.<\/p>\n

KAGRC seeks to recruit qualified persons to fill the following positions.<\/p>\n

LABORATORY TECHNICIAN KAGRC GRADE 8 (6)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ref<\/strong>: KAGRC 8\/5\/2026(4)<\/p>\n

Duties and responsibilities will entail assisting in:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Preparing media for germplasm production;<\/li>\n
  2. Standardizing laboratory procedures and reagents; iii. Dispatching analyzing and preserving test samples; iv. Simple analytical laboratory work;<\/li>\n
  3. Keeping records,<\/li>\n
  4. Collection and analysis of samples; and<\/li>\n
  5. Receiving, recording and packaging germplasm.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Person Specifications<\/h4>\n

    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: -<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Diploma in any of the following disciplines: - Applied Sciences (Applied Chemistry, Analytical chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, applied Biology), Medical Laboratory Technology or Biotechnology equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;<\/li>\n
    2. Proficiency in computer applications from a recognized institution;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
