ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT - JOB GRADE CUE 8 (Readvertisement)<\/strong><\/p>\n

a) Job Specifications<\/h4>\n

This will be the entry grade for Diploma holders. A staff at this level will work under the supervision of a senior officer.<\/p>\n

The duties and responsibilities will entail assisting in:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Entering financial data to appropriate accounts in an automated accounting system;<\/li>\n
  • Preparing and submitting customer invoices;<\/li>\n
  • Preparing and submitting of relevant with-holding and VAT payments to the Kenya Revenue Authority;<\/li>\n
  • Coding and receiving payments;<\/li>\n
  • Preparing of petty cash reimbursement payment vouchers;<\/li>\n
  • Preparing and issuing of cheques;<\/li>\n
  • Endorsing paid vouchers with payment dates, cheques numbers and paying bank;<\/li>\n
  • Filing vouchers with the aim of effective retrieval;<\/li>\n
  • Conducting monthly reconciliation of staff and supplier accounts; and<\/li>\n
  • Receiving and recording incoming payment requests from suppliers and customers and posting in incoming registers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    b) Persons Specifications<\/h4>\n

    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Diploma in Finance\/Accounts or its recognized equivalent qualifications OR Passed Part I of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination;<\/li>\n
    • Proficiency in computer applications; and<\/li>\n
    • Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      c) Key Competencies and Skills<\/h4>\n

      • Communication skills;<\/li>\n
      • Interpersonal skills;<\/li>\n
      • Organizational skills; and<\/li>\n

          3. Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).<\/li>\r\n\t
          4. Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).<\/li>\r\n\t
          5. Clearance Certificate from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n
