The role combines research support (literature review, data collection, and documentation) with statistical analysis to generate evidence that informs programs, reports, policy briefs, and grant applications.<\/p>\n<p>This is a volunteer position for a period of <strong>6 months,<\/strong> requiring approximately 10-20 hours per week, with flexible timing subject to project milestones and mutual agreement.<\/p>\n<h4>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Research Support<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist in designing data collection tools (e.g., questionnaires, survey forms, and interview guides) for adolescent-focused or mental-health projects.<\/li>\n<li>Support literature reviews and summarize empirical evidence relevant to the project's thematic focus.<\/li>\n<li>Help coordinate data collection activities in schools or community settings, including liaising with field staff or partners where applicable.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain accurate and organized research records, including codebooks, consent logs, and version-controlled datasets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Data Management and Cleaning<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Clean, organize, and structure raw data from surveys, forms, or digital platforms (e.g., Google Forms, ODK, or E-survey tools).<\/li>\n<li>Perform data validation and quality checks (e.g., identifying outliers, missing patterns, and inconsistencies).<\/li>\n<li>Maintain secure, anonymized datasets in line with data-protection guidelines and the organization's data-management policy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Statistical Analysis<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct descriptive and inferential statistics using appropriate software (e.g., SPSS).<\/li>\n<li>Run analyses relevant to the project (e.g., frequencies, cross-tabulations, t-tests, ANOVAs, regression models, and correlations).<\/li>\n<li>Generate tables, charts, and short summaries for research reports, presentations, and grant applications.<\/li>\n<li>Support the interpretation of findings in collaboration with the research team, ensuring linkages to program outcomes and policy implications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Reporting and Dissemination<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contribute to drafting research sections of reports, concept notes, and progress updates.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare clear, non-technical summaries of key findings for partners, donors, and stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in creating visual materials (e.g., graphs, infographics, or slide decks) to communicate results.<\/li>\n<li>Support the team to write journals for publication.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Collaboration and Capacity Building<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work closely with project coordinators, field staff, and other volunteers to ensure alignment between research design and implementation.<\/li>\n<li>Provide basic statistical support or guidance to other team members (e.g., explaining analysis plans or interpreting outputs).<\/li>\n<li>Participate in team meetings, debriefs, and reflection sessions as required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Essential<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Currently pursuing or holding a degree in statistics, mathematics, psychology, public health, social sciences, or a related field with a strong quantitative focus.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience in quantitative data analysis (e.g., coursework, thesis, or previous research projects).<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in at least one statistical software package (e.g., SPSS).<\/li>\n<li>Strong understanding of basic statistical concepts (e.g., sampling, hypothesis testing, reliability, and regression).<\/li>\n<li>Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, especially when handling large datasets.<\/li>\n<li>Good written and verbal communication skills in English (and local language if applicable).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desirable<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience with adolescent mental health, school-based research, or community health projects.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with survey tools (e.g., KoboToolbox and Google Forms) and data-entry platforms.<\/li>\n<li>Basic skills in data visualization (e.g. SPSS graphs or Excel charts).<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of research ethics
