As part of the LWF Education Program in Kakuma, this individual will deliver quality education by planning, teaching, and assessing learners in accordance with the Kenyan curriculum (CBC\/8-4-4\/KCSE), while promoting academic excellence, discipline, and holistic student development.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Teacher Intern- Secondary School -Kakuma ( Open to Kenyan Nationals Only)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Location<\/strong>:\u00a0Kakuma and Kalobeyei Settlement Areas \u2013 Turkana West Sub- County, Kenya<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reporting to<\/strong>:\u00a0Principal<\/p>\n<p><strong>Contract Type<\/strong>:\u00a0 Fixed Term Contract<\/p>\n<h4>KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<\/h4>\n<p>Under the supervision of the Pricipal and in collaboration with other education team members, the Teacher Intern -Secondary School will perform the following responsibilities and tasks:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Teaching and Learning<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, and instructional materials in line with the syllabus.<\/li>\n<li>Deliver lessons effectively using appropriate teaching methods and ICT tools where applicable.<\/li>\n<li>Cover the syllabus within stipulated timelines.<\/li>\n<li>Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learner needs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>2. Assessment and Evaluation<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Design and administer continuous assessment tests, exams, and assignments.<\/li>\n<li>Mark and record students' performance accurately.<\/li>\n<li>Analyze results and provide feedback to learners, parents, and school administration.<\/li>\n<li>Support students in preparing for national examinations (KCSE).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>3. Classroom Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain discipline and create a conducive learning environment.<\/li>\n<li>Enforce school rules, regulations, and code of conduct.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor student attendance and punctuality.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>4. Student Development<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide guidance and counselling to learners.<\/li>\n<li>Identify and support learners with special needs or challenges.<\/li>\n<li>Encourage participation in co-curricular activities (sports, clubs, debates, etc.).<\/li>\n<li>Mentor students to develop life skills and moral values.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>5. Administrative Duties<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain up-to-date records (lesson attendance, marks, class registers).<\/li>\n<li>Participate in school meetings, committees, and activities.<\/li>\n<li>Perform assigned duties such as class teacher, head of department, or club patron.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>6. Professional Development<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Attend workshops, seminars, and in-service training organized by TSC or the school.<\/li>\n<li>Stay updated with curriculum changes and teaching innovations.<\/li>\n<li>Adhere to the TSC Code of Regulations for Teachers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>7.
