An additional eleven advocacy and fundraising offices are located in Europe and North America.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ABOUT THE HSS DIRECTORATE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Amref Health Africa\u2019s Health Systems Strengthening (HSS) Directorate was established as a strategic technical assistance and thought leadership hub to strengthen health systems across sub-Saharan Africa through integrated programming, technical support, policy alignment, evidence generation and regional collaboration. The Directorate focuses on key pillars including Primary Health Care (PHC), Health Financing, Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH), Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) and Health Workforce strengthening.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ABOUT THE HEALTH FINANCING PILLAR<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Amref Health Africa's Health Systems Strengthening (HSS) Directorate was established as a strategic technical assistance and thought leadership hub to strengthen health systems across sub-Saharan Africa through integrated programming, technical support, policy alignment, evidence generation and regional collaboration. The Directorate focuses on key pillars including Primary Health Care (PHC), Health Financing, Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH), Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) and Health Workforce strengthening.<\/p>\n<p><strong>JOB PURPOSE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Health Financing Intern will support the Health Financing pillar within the HSS Directorate by contributing to technical research, evidence synthesis, policy analysis, stakeholder coordination, and documentation related to health financing and Universal Health Coverage (UHC) initiatives across Africa.<\/p>\n<p>The intern will support ongoing HQ projects and technical workstreams through literature reviews, data analysis, report writing, coordination support, and development of knowledge products that contribute to strengthening health financing systems, strategic purchasing, domestic resource mobilization, and health policy reforms.<\/p>\n<h4>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Evidence Generation and Technical Research<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support literature reviews, desk reviews, and evidence synthesis related to health financing, UHC, strategic purchasing, PHC financing, and health systems reforms.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in compiling and analyzing technical information from country reports, policy documents, and financing frameworks.<\/li>\n<li>Support data collection, organization, and interpretation for ongoing technical assessments and research activities.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to development of technical briefs, summaries, presentations, and policy-oriented materials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Technical Writing, Reporting and Documentation<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support drafting and editing of reports, workshop summaries, concept notes, presentations, and meeting documentation.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in documenting technical discussions, stakeholder consultations, and learning exchange activities.<\/li>\n<li>Support development and organization of knowledge management materials and technical repositories.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to packaging evidence and findings for dissemination to internal and external stakeholders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Stakeholder Engagement and coordination Support<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist in preparing agendas, presentations, attendance tracking, and follow-up actions from meetings.<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with internal technical teams and external stakeholders to support smooth implementation of activities.<\/li>\n<li>Support coordination of multicountry and cross-functional engagements within the Directorate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Programmatic and Operational Support<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support implementation of ongoing health financing activities and technical workstreams.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in tracking deliverables, timelines, and reporting requirements for projects and activities.<\/li>\n<li>Support organization of technical resources, reference materials, and institutional documentation.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to internal learning and continuous improvement initiatives within the Directorate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>QUALIFICATIONS<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Experience and Skills<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Health Economics, Economics, Finance, Public Health, Health Policy, or health related field.<\/li>\n<li>Strong interest in health financing, UHC, health policy, and health systems strengthening.<\/li>\n<li>Basic understanding of healthcare financing, Primary Healthcare,public health concepts, and UHC.<\/li>\n<li>Experience conducting literature reviews, desk reviews, or academic research is an added advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Strong writing, analytical, and organizational skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to synthesize information and present findings clearly.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).<\/li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.<\/li>\n<li>High level of professionalism, adaptability, and willingness to learn.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>WORK ENVIRONMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The role is primarily office-based at Amref Health Africa Headquarters in Nairobi \u00a0but may be required to travel if need
