We work directly in 23 countries, with extended reach to more than 60 countries through our global partnership network.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position<\/strong>: Intern, Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning<strong><br \/>\nWork Location<\/strong>\u00a0Nairobi, Kenya<br \/>\n<strong>Division<\/strong>\u00a0Global Impact<br \/>\n<strong>Department<\/strong>\u00a0Country Management<br \/>\n<strong>Manager\/Supervisor title:<\/strong>\u00a0Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning Manager<br \/>\n<strong>Position type:<\/strong>\u00a0Full-time fixed term<br \/>\n<strong>Work environment:<\/strong>\u00a0Hybrid<br \/>\n<strong>Duration:<\/strong>\u00a06 Months<\/p>\n<p><strong>About This Role<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The MEAL function is part of the Programs and Sponsorship department in the Country office that supports implementing partners and country programs to streamline the standardization of monitoring and evaluation activities. The MEAL Intern will support data management, accountability mechanisms and foster a culture of knowledge sharing and utilization. This internship targets male and female graduates with a demonstrated interest in growing a career in MEAL within a non-governmental organization.<\/p>\n<h4>Primary Responsibilities<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Results Based Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide support for annual reviews and reflections with implementing staff and communities and analyze data trends towards achievement of project objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Support in ensuring quality of existing data, sources and methods of data collection and safe storage of such information in compliance with privacy policies and procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Support evaluations, assessments and reviews including assistance on the recruitment of Research assistants, data collection, analysis and reporting among others.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the operation of Complaints Feedback and Response Mechanisms (CFRM\/CFM).<\/li>\n<li>Assist in receiving, cleaning, logging, and categorizing community feedback.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure timely referral and follow-up of complaints with relevant departments.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in community sensitization on accountability channels.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge Management and Learning<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist with report compilation for monthly or quarterly MEAL updates.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in internal learning workshops and programme reviews.<\/li>\n<li>Support in ensuring that heads of department are compliant in uploading data and reports into SharePoint repository on a quarterly basis<\/li>\n<li>Support to prepare high quality information and learning products including infographics, donor pitch decks, project briefs, case studies, success stories etc<\/li>\n<li>Support the preparation of progress review meetings to discuss progress, challenges and lessons learnt and develop workplans with the project team.<\/li>\n<li>Support project launch, start up and close out workshops to disseminate stakeholders\u2019 information related to implementation and critical learnings.<\/li>\n<li>Update the lessons learned and recommendations database tracker from project evaluations and studies.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the organization of learning events such as webinars, conferences etc when needed.<\/li>\n<li>Remain alert and responsive to any safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the safeguarding policy and procedures, and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the Safeguarding Policy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Required Experience and Education<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree graduate class of 2025 (or a final year student) in Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics or Knowledge Management, Information science.<\/li>\n<li>6 to 12 months experience in monitoring and evaluation activities through research, internship, volunteering within an NGO.<\/li>\n<li>Intermediate or advanced Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point)<\/li>\n<li>Basic understanding of project management cycle and monitoring and evaluation concepts is preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Strong written and verbal language skills in English &amp; Swahili<\/li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work on multiple tasks within strict deadlines,<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of mobile data applications such as CommCare, KOBO Collect, ODK<\/li>\n<li>High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to manage sensitive information confidentially.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Required Competencies<\/h4>\n<p><strong>ChildFund\u2019s Core Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Teamwork:<\/strong>\u00a0the ability to work effectively and collaborate with others; values and respects individual differences.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Communication:<\/strong>\u00a0demonstrates empathy and tact when communicating with others and uses a storytelling approach when appropriate.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Results-orientation:<\/strong>\u00a0gets things done; takes proactive steps to achieve organizational goals and quality standards.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Decision making:<\/strong>\u00a0uses good judgement, critical thinking, and non-traditional ways to evaluate problems and opportunities; reflects and innovates to improve decisions and outcomes.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Resilience:<\/strong>\u00a0thrives and grows in rapidly changing, demanding, and complex environments.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Digital literacy:<\/strong>\u00a0adopts and champions new technology to relevant contexts, stays aware of technological trends and embraces technological solutions to business challenges.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>ChildFund\u2019s Values<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We aspire every person in our organization\u2014program participants, supporters, staff, and volunteers alike\u2014to feel free, safe, and confident to be themselves.
