The National Research Fund (NRF) is a statutory body established under the Science, Technology and Innovation Act, 2013, with a mandate to mobilize resources and facilitate research for the advancement of science, technology, and innovation for national development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NRF invites applications for Postgraduate Research Grants for the 2025\/2026 Financial Year.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n This national research call is a strategic intervention aimed at strengthening Kenya\u2019s Science, Technology, and Innovation (ST&I) ecosystem by supporting high-quality postgraduate research that contributes to innovation, evidence-based policymaking, and inclusive national development in line with the Government\u2019s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Bonafide Kenyan postgraduate students registered in public or private universities in Kenya are eligible to apply. The grant will support only the research component of Master\u2019s or doctoral degree training programmes, focusing on projects that address national development priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A successful doctoral research project will be funded up to a maximum of Kenya Shillings Two Million (Ksh 2,000,000)<\/strong> for a period not exceeding three (3) years<\/strong>, while a successful Master\u2019s
research project will be funded up to a maximum of Kenya Shillings Five Hundred Thousand (Ksh 500,000)<\/strong> for a period of one (1) year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
