Julius Ndegwa

Am a  software engineering student with a deep passion for machine learning, federated learning, and building impactful tech solutions—especially in healthcare and education to solve current problems. I love the challenge of solving real-world problems with technology, whether it’s developing mobile apps with Flutter, creating desktop applications with Flet, creating website JavaScript and python or diving into the complexities of federated learning from scratch.

Right now, I’m working on a healthcare insurance system designed to align with Kenya’s new Social Health Funding model. My goal? To streamline fund allocation, integrate with other insurance providers, and eliminate redundancy—ensuring people get the coverage they need without unnecessary duplication and eliminating the misunderstanding between the public and private sector in healthcare.

Beyond coding, I enjoy researching AI-driven innovations, particularly how federated learning can enhance data security and privacy in healthcare. I’ve also taken on leadership roles, from student governance to research grant initiatives, because I believe in using tech to make a real difference to the world.

For me, software engineering isn’t just about writing code—it’s about building smarter, more efficient systems that create real impact in the society.

I highly value the use of agile methods for software development with a key emphasis on Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD). 

In interaction with databases, i have gained skills and experience in both SQL (MYSQL) and NOSQL(MONGODB). 

Additionally, I have attained certification for Artificial Intelligence from HavardX, and project management using  agile development.
