Newton Onyango

I am  an experienced and dedicated Assistant Librarian with knowledge in the library and information science field. I hold a Diploma in Library and Information Science from the Technical University of Mombasa.

I have a strong background in cataloging, organizing, and managing library resources. My expertise includes assisting patrons with research, maintaining the library’s digital and physical collections, and supporting various library programs and events. I am proficient in using library management systems and has a keen eye for detail, ensuring that all materials are accurately cataloged and easily accessible.

While at KNLS and KCNP I worked closely with the Senior Librarian to oversee daily operations, provide excellent customer service, and facilitate educational workshops and community outreach programs. My efforts contributed to a significant increase in library usage and patron satisfaction.

I am passionate about promoting literacy and lifelong learning. I regularly participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with the latest trends and technologies in library science

Outside of work, I enjoy reading science fiction, volunteering at local schools, and exploring Kenya’s natural landscapes.
