Profile & Portfolio

Business and Financial Operations Occupations, Data Entry Clerks

Laura Auma Odeny is a passionate educator, mental health advocate and aspiring data analyst based in Kenya. With a B.Sc. in Economics and a background in education and counseling, she brings a unique blend of analytical thinking and empathetic leadership to every initiative she undertakes. Currently serving as a Teach for Kenya Fellow, Laura is the co-founder of Diversity for Inclusion, a project dedicated to raising awareness and supporting learners with dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia. Her advocacy for inclusive education is rooted in her deep concern for learners often left behind due to limited awareness and resources for learning differences in African classrooms.

Laura has previously worked in sales, customer service and logistics, including a stint at the Kenya Ports Authority. She has also completed training in supporting learners with dyslexia through Nessy and has successfully led school-based initiatives that blend art, mental health and education. Laura is driven by SDGs 4 and 2 (quality education and zero hunger) and continues to collaborate with local and international partners to create equitable learning environments for all children. She is particularly enthusiastic about utilizing data and technology to address systemic educational challenges in Kenya.
