I am a Probation Officer in the Kenya’s Ministry of Interior and National Administration. I am based in the headquarters of one of its departments of Probation and After Care Services (PACS) in Nairobi. I work to promote a just and secure society through conducting and presenting social inquiry reports to court to inform judicial decisions, managing offenders and administration, and crime prevention activities in Kenya. I believe that everyone deserves a second chance in life and a secure and just society is fundamental for socio-economic development. In addition, I am also in charge of talent management at PACS where I identify, develop, nurture, and match the talent and responsibilities of probation officers in the department.
I hold a BA degree in Sociology and Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Sociology from Kenyatta University. Further, I am an alumnus of the the Public Service Emerging Leaders Fellowship (PSELF) where I served and still serve as the president of the alumni. Throughout the one-year program, I interacted and learned from influential leaders within and outside the country such as the former Head of State for Liberia Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, the Chief Justice of Kenya Martha Koome, and the former Head of Public Service of Kenya Amb. Francis Muthaura. I am also an alumnus of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) and Fredrick Ebert Stiftung’s Political Leadership and Governance Programme (PLGP) where I developed exemplary leadership skills and gained valuable insights into leadership, governance, and public administration. With a strong commitment to promoting good governance and social justice, I actively advocate for these principles at work and in the community.
I am a trained ToT in Probation and After Care Service by the Kenya School of Governance (KSG) and a Policy Coherence and Systems Thinking for Sustainable Development graduate at United Nations Systems Staff College. I have a strong interest in corporate and political leadership and governance. I pride myself in collaborative leadership, strategic decision-making, proficient communication, and adept policy formulation and implementation, which I see as a necessary means of addressing the socio-political challenges that communities face in Africa.

Probation Officer - May 2021- To Date: Responsibilities
 In charge of talent management in Probation and Aftercare Service Department
 I identify, map, and nurture talent among probation officers in the department.
 Carry out all the functions of the HR section as assigned.
 I conduct social inquiry and write reports to penal institutions for dispensation of justice.
 Carry out rehabilitation of offenders and create community awareness on crime.
Achievements
 I have successfully mapped all probation officers in the country, identified those with unique talents to be nurtured
 Planned training for organizational change agents.

 Issuing loan forms and assisting citizens fill in loan applications
 Giving current loan status to Uwezo Fund loan beneficiaries
 Ensuring compliance to loan terms; vetting women, youth, and PWDs groups applying for loans
 Filing constituency loan status reports monthly; registering groups
 Developing loan ageing analysis.
Achievement
 Registered 237 women, youth, and PWDs group in one year
 Loan recovery rose by 32% from previous year
 Submitted monthly loan status reports to the HQ
 More groups’ businesses were run smoothly because of financial management lessons offered
 32 businesses were started because of the loans offered in the constituency.
