Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program Applications 2025/26 at the University of Edinburgh
In response to the climate crisis the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of Edinburgh will invest in a community of skilled, entrepreneurial, and compassionate future leaders from across Africa.
Through the Program at the University of Edinburgh, we will offer talented young people an exciting array of high-quality, sustainability-focused postgraduate learning opportunities, equipping young people with the knowledge, skills and networks to promote sustainable transitions.
We are looking to recruit Scholars to join in September 2025 for on-campus and online study programmes.
Applications are especially encouraged from:
- young women
- young people with disabilities
- young people with refugee and displaced status
Applicants should first apply for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, and only when they have received a scholarship offer should they apply to their degree programmes at the University of Edinburgh.

- Carbon Management (Masters route only)
- International Development (Masters route only)
- Circular Economy (Masters or Diploma)
- Global Food Security and Nutrition (Masters or Diploma)
- Global Challenges (Masters or Diploma)
- One Health (Masters or Diploma)
- Sustainable Lands and Cities (Masters or Diploma)
- Social Justice and Community Action (Masters or Diploma)
