The primary focus of this role will be to plan, develop, implement, and manage strategies for an organization’s social media accounts. The ideal candidate will have experience managing social media comments, creating content as well as looking for opportunities to increase brand exposure for their assigned company.
About The Safaricom Hook SME Internship Program
As part of Safaricom Hook initative, Safaricom, in partnership with BrighterMonday, is empowering 15 SMEs to offer meaningful, paid internships to 15 candidates from October to December 2024, with a monthly stipend of Ksh 25,000. This will provide the young professionals the perfect launchpad to kickstart their careers by providing them an opportunity to gain the much needed industry experience and exposure to work environment.
Locations: Eldoret.
What you will be doing:
- Using social media marketing tools to create and maintain the company’s brand
- Working with the marketing team to develop social media marketing campaigns
- Interacting with customers and other stakeholders via the company’s social media accounts
- Analyzing the company’s digital marketing plan and social media strategy, identifying strategic weaknesses, and making recommendations for improvements
- Researching social media trends and informing management of changes that are relevant to the company’s marketing activities
- Setting key performance indicators (KPIs) for social media campaigns, such as targets for a certain number of shares or likes and measuring a campaign’s performance against the KPIs
What you’ll need:
- Degree in marketing, digital marketing, internet marketing or a related field
- Prior experience as a copywriter and content developer
- Experience in creating social media strategies
- Knowledge of best practices for social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
