Kenya Broadcasting Corporation is a State Corporation established under the KBC Act (Cap. 221) and operating under the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy. The Corporation is committed to excellence in broadcast services to its audience, customers and the public. The mandate of the Corporation is to inform, educate and entertain the public through Radio services, Television programmes and Digital Media platforms.

The Corporation is seeking to engage six (6) qualified and motivated interns to undertake internship programmes for a maximum (non-renewable) period of twelve (12) months in the following Departments as per the outlined basic requirements:-

1. Technical Services Department (Transmission /Production) – 1 position

Minimum requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree OR Diploma in Telecommunicationi or Electrical Engineering from a recognized Institution
  2. Must be computer literate
  3. Knowledge in transmission and production

2. Television Programmes Department (Design) – 1 position

Minimum requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree OR Diploma in Graphic design /3D Graphic design or its equivalent from a recognized Institution
  2. Computer Proficiency
  3. Creativity and innovativeness

3. Radio Services Department ( Creative) – 1 position

Minimum requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree OR Diploma in Journalism, Mass Communication, or Broadcast Journalism from a recognized Institution
  2. Must be computer literate
  3. Fluency in English and Kiswahili
  4. Strong oral communication, writing, editing and analytical skills

4. Digital Department – 2 positions

Minimum requirements:

  1. Bachelor of Science Degree OR Diploma in Computer Science/Software Engineering/ Information Technlogy/Computer Programming/Web Development or Software Development.
    OR
    Bacheor’s Degree OR Diploma in Journalism , Mass Communication, Media Studies, Public Relations, Graphic Design from a recognized University
  2. Practical skills in either Web Development, Soft ware Development, Mobile App or Database Development
  3. Familiarity with social media platforms

Minimum requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognized Institution
  2. Must be computer literate
  3. Drafting, report writing, planning and organisational skills.

Other requirements:

  1. Kenyan youth aged between 21 and 34 years
  2. Have graduated from College / University not earlier than the year 2019
  3. Must attach copies of certificates, academic transcripts, updated curriculum vitae, national identity card or passport alongside the application letter
  4. Must indicate the specific area of interest / department covered in the advert.

Upon succesful selection and intake, the interns will be required to submit the following documents:-

  1. Personal accident insurance cover for the entire period of internship
  2. Medical insurance cover by the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF) or any other reputable medical insurance firm
  3. PIN certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority.
  4. NSSF card
  5. Two coloured passport photographs
  6. Bank account details
  7. Recommendation/reference letter from the Institution attended.
  8. Certificate of Good Conduct
