The Kenya branch of POWERCHINA serves as the East and Southern Africa Regional Headquarters of the group and is one of the core national markets in the region. Since entering the Kenyan market in 2002, POWERCHINA has established a solid market share and strong brand reputation through more than two decades of dedicated efforts.  The  company  has  successfully  completed  a  series  of  major engineering   projects, including   the   Nairobi-Thika   Highway   Lot   2 (the   first expressway in East Africa), the 330 km Kenya Road Upgrade Project (awarded the POWERCHINA Excellence in Engineering Award), Imali Road, Sondu-Miriu Hydropower Station, Kisumu Road, Masinga-Kitui Water Supply, Nairobi Garden City Commercial Complex, and the Lower Nzoia River Irrigation Project.

As of July 2024, the company has signed 142 contracts in Kenya with a total value of $3.94 billion, covering roads, bridges, water and wastewater treatment, municipal facilities, power, renewable energy, housing, and mining sectors.

Currently, there are 29 ongoing projects in Kenya with a total contract value of $645 million. The workforce includes 303 Chinese employees (64 management-level permanent staff, 137 project department permanent staff, and 102 outsourced Chinese personnel) and 1,201 local employees. Major ongoing projects include the Mombasa Mwache Dam Water Supply Project, the Olkaria Unit 1 Geothermal Power Plant Rehabilitation, the Lower Nzoia Flood Control and Irrigation Project, the Mau Mau Road Lot 3, and Kenya’s Rural Roads Project Cluster.

These projects have received widespread recognition and praise from the Kenyan government, clients, and society at large. Job Responsibilities

Responsible for the financial management of the company and projects, including budget preparation, cost control, financial statement preparation, and financial compliance management.

General Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.

Language: Fluent in English for business and technical communication.

Experience: Fresh graduates with strong academic and practical backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Candidates with relevant work experience or familiarity with Kenyan regulations/projects are preferred.

Skills: Proficiency in office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related technical tools.

Work Location

Kenya (Project-based positions are located at the Nakuru Geothermal Power Project or assigned according to specific project requirements. Other positions are based in Nairobi, and employees are required to comply with the company’s unified deployment arrangements.)
