Vacancy Description
The key responsibility of the CFSP Junior Technical Advisor Nutrition is to support the CFSP Project Manager in the organization, coordination and implementation of:
- the nutrition component of the project construction related activities and documentation
- Knowledge management
- Support the M&E component
In close cooperation with the Head of Project, the CFSP Junior Technical Advisor Nutrition has the following tasks and responsibilities:
- Works closely with the Component manager Agriculture in supporting the implementation of all nutrition related activities
- Keeping detailed records of project documents
- Ensures good communication and flow of information within the project and with the GIZ offices.
- Support with the preparation of scheduled reports to relevant parties (incl. annual progress reporting to GIZ-Nairobi/Headquarters)
- Represent the organization/project in meetings and coordination forums as required by the Project Manager
- Assist Project Manager in specifying terms of reference for both local and external consultants and preparing other relevant documents for contracting consultants
- Support Technical advisor on maintaining the M&E system
- Support the AV in the Technical supervision of consultants and technical experts
- Supporting the AV in Planning and Contracting processes
- Support the AV in complying with GIZ rules and regulations (compliance) especially with regards to construction related activities
Qualifications and specialist knowledge (optional, if required)
- Bachelors Degree in Nutrition Studies or other related courses
- Nutrition related publications an added advantage
- At least 1-year professional work experience of which at least 4 months professional working experience in a similar position, prior experience in international organizations preferred
- Good organizational skills
- Excellent computer literacy with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook, experience in budget tracking tools, PowerPoint and/or Access
- Candidate is expected to quickly learn, understand and follow GIZ office administrative/financial processes and procedures
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Strong communication (written & spoken) and interpersonal skills
- Flexible, with ability to work and handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines
