Vacancy Description
Alupe University is one of the new Universities in Kenya established vide the Alupe University Charter, 2022. The University aims to be a Bastion of Knowledge in Science, Education, Business Studies, Economics, Social Sciences, Human Resource Development, Tourism and Hospitality. Pursuant to Part III of the Alupe University Charter and Part XV of the Alupe University Statutes, the University invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant positions: –
ACADEMIC DIVISION
Computer Lab (Technician) (Grade 7) AC/33/05/2025
Minimum Qualification and Experience
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: –
i. Hold a Bachelor of Science degree in any of the following disciplines: Information Technology, Computer Technology, Electrical and Electronics Engineering from accredited and recognized institution;
ii. Certification in A+, N+ and/or Cisco;
iii. At least One (1) year working experience since qualifying;
iv. Be a registered member of the professional body (where applicable);
v. Should have a practicing certificate (where applicable); and
vi. Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Duties and Responsibilities at this level entails: –
i. Communicates and enforces computer laboratory policies to all laboratory users;
ii. Maintains security of the software and equipment in the laboratories;
iii. Maintains laboratory computer software and hardware according to an approved maintenance schedule;
iv. Installs software and hardware as directed in conformance to the university ICT policies;
v. Obtains fixes to software and hardware problems guided by the laid down policies and procedures;
vi. Communicates laboratory problems to the CoD, Dean and other affected personnel; and
vii. Maintains currency in the use of all software and hardware products used in the laboratory.

Application Guidelines

- Applicants if shortlisted must show up to date and valid evidence of compliance with provisions of Chapter 6 of the constitution of Kenya, with specific reference to clearance by the following bodies;
- Kenya Revenue Authority,
- Higher Education Loans Board,
- Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission,
- Directorate of Criminal Investigation (Certificate of Good Conduct),
- Registered Credit Reference Bureau
- Applicants should provide names, telephone numbers and contact addresses of three (3) referees and request their referees to send their confidential reports to recruitment@au.ac.ke or addressed to the undersigned to be received on or before 13th June, 2025.
- Five hard copies should be sent by post or hand delivery to the Administration Registry at the Assistant Registrar (Human Resource and Administration) office and a soft copy in PDF format of the application documents with the reference numbers of the positions applied for clearly indicated, should be sent to recruitment@au.ac.ke.
