About the Role

Elite HR Solutions client, a reputable sugar mill, is seeking to hire a proactive and detail-oriented HR Assistant (Generalist) to support the HR department in implementing day-to-day human resource functions. The role will involve providing administrative, operational, and advisory support across various HR areas to ensure smooth and efficient HR operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the recruitment and onboarding process, including job postings, shortlisting, interviews, and orientation.
  • Maintain up-to-date employee records, files, and HR databases.
  • Assist in payroll preparation by providing accurate data such as attendance, leave, and overtime.
  • Coordinate staff training, performance management, and employee development programs.
  • Support compliance with labor laws, HR policies, and company procedures.
  • Handle employee relations matters, grievances, and welfare initiatives.
  • Prepare HR reports and provide administrative support to the HR Manager.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • A Higher Diploma in HRM and membership with IHRM is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a generalist HR role, preferably in a manufacturing or agro-processing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and HR software.
