Main Purpose of the job:
The TVET Trainer is expected to teach and mentor students.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Instruct trainees in the specific courses/units in ensuring adherence to the respective curriculum and occupational standards.
- Plan, conduct and assess practical sessions for the assigned course units.
- Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and prepare lecture notes.
- Prepare internal exams and ensure validation.
- Carry out continuous assessments for trainees.
- Supervise and assess trainees in the designated course area.
- Mark, grade, and enter the grades into the ERP system for the assigned units.
- Supervise trainees on industrial attachments.
- Prepare trainees for external exams by providing the practical technical skills necessary for effective competency acquisition.
- Maintain accurate records and make them available as required by the Directorate, TVET CDACC, or any other relevant body.
- Adhere to the exam preparation and processing schedule.
- Attend all assigned class contact hours
- Mentor students, Invigilate both external and internal examinations, and monitor class attendance records;
Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in the relevant technical area from a recognized institution.
- Ability to teach all the common and core units in community health, counselling psychology, project management, social work & community development, and health records.
- Must be a Holder of a Certificate in Pedagogy (Teaching Strategies) or Registered by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA) as a Trainer.
- Knowledge of KNEC/CDACC examination procedures
Experience:
- Relevant teaching experience of at least one (2) years.
- Knowledge and expertise in theory and practical skills relevant to the area of training.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
