Position Overview
We are seeking an Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Engineer Intern to join our Research and Development (R&D) team. In this role, you will contribute to the design, integration, and optimization of sensors, instrumentation, and control systems that power our DAC machines, advancing them from concept to prototype and eventually to minimum commercial product (MCP).
This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to apply and expand your technical skills while working on breakthrough climate technologies. Exceptional performance may lead to a transition into a permanent role, where you will continue to play a key part in shaping Octavia Carbon’s growth and global impact in the carbon removal sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research, evaluate, and source sensors and instrumentation that enhance accuracy, reliability, and efficiency in DAC applications.
- Design and implement real-time data acquisition and control systems to improve process performance and responsiveness.
- Test, validate, and optimize integrated sensor and control solutions to ensure robustness and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless integration of instrumentation and control into core processes and systems.
- Develop clear technical documentation and provide proactive support to enable smooth operations and knowledge transfer across teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, or a related engineering field.
- Academic projects, internships, or personal initiatives demonstrating experience in embedded systems and control engineering.
- Strong understanding of sensor and actuator interfacing.
- Proficiency in C/C++.
- PLC programming knowledge.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, solve problems creatively, and communicate effectively in team settings.
Duration:This is a 3-month internship position with a path to maturing to full-time employment.
