Overall Purpose

The Finance Intern will provide support to the finance team in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, assisting with reconciliations, filing, and supporting day-to-day finance operations.

Reporting to

Finance & Administration Manager (or designate).

Duration

3 months (with possibility of extension based on performance and organizational needs)

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Entry & Bookkeeping

  • Enter financial transactions for year 2025 into the templates provided in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Update cashbooks and ledgers as directed.

2. Reconciliations

  • Assist in preparing and reconciling the cashbook with bank statements.
  • Support in reconciling petty cash records.

3. Filing & Documentation

  • Ensure financial documents (vouchers, receipts, invoices, payment records) are properly filed and easily retrievable.
  • Maintain both physical and electronic filing systems.

4. Financial Reporting Support

  • Support monthly finance closing processes.

5. Administrative Support

  • Assist with scanning, photocopying, and archiving financial records.
  • Support other administrative duties as may be assigned.

Learning Opportunities

  • Exposure to NGO/organizational finance systems.
  • Hands-on experience in reconciliations and reporting.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed studies in Bachelor of Commerce (accounting option), Finance or a related field. CPA II.
  • At least 6 months experience in bookkeeping.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Word.
  • Exposure to QuickBooks Online is an added advantage.
  • High attention to detail, organizational skills, and integrity.
