Established in 1937 and located at Bomet County, AGC Tenwek Hospital is a Ministry of the Africa Gospel Church Kenya. It’s a 500+ Bed Capacity Teaching and Referral Hospital serving the vast South-West Region of Kenya including but not limited to Bomet, Narok, Kisii, Kericho and Kisumu Counties. AGC Tenwek Hospital is seeking to recruit highly motivated, ministry minded, born again Christians with good standing, demonstrating spiritual maturity, integrity and a calling to serve to fill the following positions:

Mechanical Technician (Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning -HVAC)

Job Purpose:

The Mechanical Technician – Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning will be responsible for conducting inspection, installation, testing, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning systems at the Cardiothoracic Centre to ensure their efficient and reliable operation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot and resolve Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning equipment faults in a timely manner.
Carry out installation, testing, and commissioning of Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning works.
Conduct periodic preventive maintenance of Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning equipment.
Proactively inspect Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning installations and identify potential issues.
Perform reactive repair and maintenance of Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning systems as required.
Assist in diagnosing faults in other mechanical installations when assigned.
Collect and document information on mechanical installations for input into the Integrated Health Information Management System (I-HMIS).
Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, or related field from a recognized institution.
Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience working with Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning installations and related equipment.
Membership with a relevant professional body is desirable.
Previous experience with AHUs, Split Units, VRFs, VRVs, extract fans, and refrigerators.
Ability to interpret technical drawings.
Strong multitasking, problem-solving, and time management skills.
Intermediate proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships.
Demonstrated integrity, reliability, and self-drive with ability to work under minimal supervision.
