ICT Clerks – By-elections 2025

Duties and Responsibilities

1. To provide high-quality first-level ICT support services to the Returning Officer at the tallying centre.
2. Restore normal services to the users as quickly as possible by fixing technical hitches, fulfilling service requests or answering queries to allow the users to work effectively.
3. To prepare, configure and test KIEMS kits in readiness for the elections.
4. In liaison with the CICT, provide technical support to the Presiding Officers, Deputy Presiding Officers and clerks during elections.
5. Ensure that KIEMS kits are fully charged and functional at all times.
6. Perform data backup and data restoration on KIEMS Kits.
7. Participate in the training of Support Electoral Trainers, Presiding Officers, Deputy Presiding Officers and Clerks.
8. Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Returning Officer

Requirements for Appointment

0. Kenyan citizen of high integrity, and be non-partisan;
1. Hold a Diploma qualifications in ICT or other IT or related field;
2. ICT Certification (MCSE, CCNA or Equivalent) will be an added advantage;
3. At least 2 years industrial experience in ICT support in a busy environment;
4. Hands on experience and skills in Computer Hardware, Network and Software diagnosis;
5. Have effective communication skills & good report writing skills;
6. Must be available for the entire period of the exercise
7. Resident in the constituency/Ward in which they apply for;

Wages

–     ICT clerk will be paid Kshs. 1,500 per day
