The Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA) is a State Corporation established under the Science Technology and Innovation (ST&I) Act, No 28 of 2013. The mandate to develop and manage the National Innovation System.

The Agency invites applications from suitably qualified applicants to fill the following vacant position:

INFORMATION COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY OFFICER II, KENIA 8 – J (Post 1)

Post Duration: Parmanent

This is an entry level grade for degree holder into this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer.

(a) Job Specifications

Duties and responsibilities at this level entail:

  1. Analysing, designing, testing and implementing ICT applications;
  2. Providing advanced user support;
  3. Maintaining and support ICT systems;
  4. Training end users in ICT systems;
  5. Repairing and maintaining ICT equipment;
  6. Receiving, installing, certifying and configuring ICT equipment;
  7. Maintaining and updating Website and portals;
  8. Configuring and maintaining local area networks and wide area networks;
  9. Updating and maintaining ICT equipment inventory;
  10. Preparing ICT technical specifications and user manual and documentations; and
  11. Escalating any faults for further action.

(b) Person Specifications

For appointment to this grade a candidate must have:

  1. Bachelor of Science degree in any of the following fields: Computer Science, Computer Technology, Informatics, Computer Science & Technology, Information Systems, Informatics and Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Security and Forensics, Business Information Technology, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.
  2. Proficiency in Computer Applications
