Our client is seeking to recruit qualified and experienced Drivers (Tuk Tuk & Canter) to support its expanding logistics operations in Nairobi and Mombasa.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Driver (Tuk Tuk & Canter) will be responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of goods between company warehouses, outlets, and customers. The role requires flexibility, reliability, and a high sense of responsibility to ensure deliveries are made accurately and on schedule while maintaining company vehicle standards and adhering to traffic and safety regulations.

This position specifically targets Tuk Tuk Drivers who can also operate canters and are available for immediate engagement. Recruitment will be conducted on a rolling basis due to operational urgency.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

a) Delivery & Transportation

  • Safely drive assigned Tuk Tuks and Canters to deliver goods to customers and outlets.
  • Verify all items before dispatch and upon delivery to ensure accuracy.
  • Plan efficient delivery routes to minimise delays and fuel consumption.
  • Ensure goods are delivered within scheduled timelines and in good condition.

b) Customer Service

  • Provide courteous and professional service when interacting with customers.
  • Collect signed delivery notes and maintain accurate proof of delivery records.
  • Address customer concerns promptly and escalate unresolved issues to the Warehouse Manager.

c) Vehicle Maintenance

  • Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip checks (fuel, tires, oil, lights, brakes, etc.).
  • Maintain cleanliness and operational standards of assigned vehicles.
  • Report any vehicle defects, maintenance needs, or accidents immediately.

d) Documentation & Reporting

  • Keep accurate records of daily deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and route logs.
  • Submit delivery reports to the Warehouse Manager at the end of each shift.
  • Ensure all delivery documentation is completed, signed, and filed correctly.

e) Safety & Compliance

  • Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and internal safety guidelines.
  • Report accidents, delays, or security concerns promptly.
  • Comply with company health, safety, and environmental policies.

f) Loading & Unloading

  • Assist with loading and unloading goods, ensuring safe handling and stacking.
  • Prevent damage to fragile or high-value goods during transport.

Qualifications & Experience

  • KCSE Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering (an added advantage).
  • Valid driver’s license with Class BCE or relevant categories for Tuk Tuk and Canter.
  • Clean driving record with no history of major traffic violations or accidents.
  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience driving Tuk Tuks or small delivery trucks within FMCG, logistics, or retail environments.
  • Good knowledge of delivery routes in Nairobi, Mombasa, and surrounding regions.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to perform minor repairs preferred.
