KALOBEYEI INITIATIVE FOR BETTER LIFE is a Community Based Organization, Registered under social service, Labor ministry of Kenya, Turkana County in 2020. It is an integrated organization with the lead of Refugees since 2018.  Currently working in four sectors Education, Livelihood, Health and Protection.

Mission: Providing scalable skills to both refugees and host communities for decent work and sustainable community development.

PROGRAM FACILITATORS

Open vacancies: 7 positions
Location: Kakuma and Kalobeyei (4 in Kakuma, 3 in Kalobeyei)
Duration: 12 months
Reporting to: Program Coordinator

Role overview

The Facilitator will plan, manage, and deliver program training sessions while creating content and facilitating learning across diverse subject areas. They will employ innovative tools and approaches to ensure the achievement of project outcomes for participants (across various ages based on the program) including adult learners. Additionally, they will develop and use assessment, measurement metrics and tools to track and report program success effectively.

Key Responsibilities

1. Community Mobilization

  • Conduct stakeholder mapping and engagement
  • Mobilize target groups through outreach campaigns, door-to-door visits, school visits, or partner referrals to register participants for program activities.
  • Organize and conduct community sensitization sessions as per program needs.

2. Training Session Planning and Management

  • Design and schedule training sessions in alignment with program goals and participant needs.
  • Manage logistics for training delivery, including materials, venues, and technology requirements.
  • Monitor and adjust session plans to ensure effective time management and learner engagement.

3. Content Creation and Delivery

  • Develop high-quality, relevant, and program/project appropriate training materials and content.
  • Update content regularly to align with evolving program objectives and participant feedback.
  • Deliver engaging and interactive sessions tailored to participants needs using various innovative methods.

4. Learning Facilitation

  • Facilitate dynamic and participatory learning sessions that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive environment to maximize learner engagement and participation.

5. Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Develop and implement tools and metrics to measure training effectiveness and learning outcomes.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on data to monitor the impact of the training program. Prepare program reports as per the timelines set.
  • Provide constructive feedback to participants and recommend areas for improvement.

6. Collaboration and Reporting

  • Work closely with Program Coordinators to align training content and sessions with broader program goals.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of training activities, participant progress, and key outcomes.
  • Contribute to regular program reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

7. Capacity Building

  • Support participants in applying acquired skills in practical, real-life contexts.
  • Offer after session support to participants where needed.
  • Identify additional learning needs and recommend supplementary resources or follow-up sessions.

8. Any other duties assigned by the organization.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma in community development, Early childhood development, Education, project management, facilitation or a related field.
  • Proven experience in training session planning, child development activities, mental health and Psychosocial support content creation, and facilitation of adult learning.
  • Experience in SRHR services or programs delivery to communities.
  • Strong technical skills in curriculum design and delivery. using digital tools and platforms for innovative learning
  • Proficiency in Experience in monitoring and evaluation of training programs.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Key competencies

  • Experience working with displaced persons, refugees, or underserved communities.
  • Knowledge of participatory learning approaches and adult education principles.
  • Multilingual capabilities especially English, Swahili, Arabic etc.
  • Tech and innovation driven.
