Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Data Entry & Record Keeping
- Accurately input financial data from source documents (invoices, receipts, expense reports) into the accounting system on a daily basis.
- Ensure all financial records, files, and documentation are organized, complete, and stored securely for audit purposes.
- Assist in maintaining up-to-date vendor and customer records.
Accounts Payable & Receivable Support
- Assist in processing vendor invoices, verifying accuracy, obtaining necessary approvals, and preparing payments.
- Support the tracking and reconciliation of customer payments, assisting with debt collection efforts as required.
- Prepare and issue customer invoices accurately and promptly.
Reconciliation & Reporting Assistance
- Assist senior accountants with bank reconciliations, M-Pesa reconciliations, and general ledger account reconciliations.
- Support the preparation of basic financial reports, summaries, and schedules for management review.
- Help in generating monthly statements for clients and suppliers.
General Accounting & Compliance
- Provide general administrative support to the finance department as needed.
- Assist with inventory counts and valuation support related to lubricant and petroleum stock.
- Ensure all accounting procedures comply with company policies and local regulatory requirements (e.g., KRA regulations).
Key Requirement Skills And Qualification
- A Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field
- Possession of CPA Section 2 or 3 is highly desirable
- At least one (1) year of working experience in an accounting role or previous internship is required
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential (pivot tables, VLOOKUP functions, etc.). Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP Business One, Sage) is an added advantage
- High attention to detail, accuracy, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information responsibly
