CALL FOR RESEARCH ENUMERATORS – PASGR AYPRES PROGRAMME (KENYA)

Number required: 15 Positions
Location: Kenya (multiple field sites)
Programme: PASGR – AYPRES

PASGR seeks to recruit research enumerators to support an upcoming national research project in Kenya. We invite applications for Research Enumerator enumerators to support with data collection, data cleaning and data organizing for African Youth Pathways to Resilience and Systems Change (AYPRES) research programme. The primary objective of AYPRES is to explore the factors that drive youth resilience and how their lived experiences, voice, agency, and perceptions of sustainability and system change can effectively contribute to creating responsive programmes, policies, and practices. The programme aims to generate credible insights that promote effective and sustainable youth access to dignified and fulfilling work. AYPReS is being conducted in ten African countries: Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Benin, Togo, and Côte d’Ivoire.

This opportunity targets young and emerging researchers eager to contribute to high-impact policy and governance research while strengthening their applied field research skills.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Hold a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in a relevant social science, statistical or interdisciplinary field (e.g., Sociology, Political Science, International development, Economics, Statistics,
  • Development Studies, Anthropology, Public Policy, Gender Studies, STS etc.). The who hold a Masters degree will have an added advantage.
  • Be 35 years of age or below at the time of application.
  • Demonstrate prior experience in research or data collection (quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods).
  • Possess excellent communication skills in English and/or Kiswahili; familiarity with local languages is an added advantage.
  • Availability for field deployment, training, and reporting activities as required.
  • Publications and/or contributions to academic or policy research outputs are an added advantage, though not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

Selected enumerators will:

  • Participate in enumerator training and ethical research orientation.
  • Conduct high-quality field data collection (surveys, interviews, focus groups, digital data capture);
  • Clean up and organize data
  • Ensure adherence to PASGR research protocols, ethics standards, and data quality requirements;
  • Submit timely field reports and contribute to project monitoring activities.
