In November 2025, the President of Kenya launched Africa's first Green Ammonia Fertilizer Plant at the KenGen Industrial Park in Olkaria. This groundbreaking Kes. 100 billion project is a partnership between China's Kaishan Group and KenGen. It will be powered by geothermal energy to produce 480,000 tonnes of green fertilizer annually.

Second Batch Departure: July 2026
Return & Deployment: June 2027 to Green Ammonia and Hydrogen Plant
