Advocacy & Communications Internship

Team PAWA is looking for a dynamic and dedicated Advocacy and Communications Intern to assist in our activities. This internship will offer the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals in communications and advocayc, providing valuable exposure to the inner workings of a leading civil society organisation.
Internship Overview
Our Internship Program is designed to offer hands-on, real-world experience for individuals looking to develop their skills in a youth-serving organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of advocacy and communication materials, including multi-media packages, toolkits and social media content.
- Support the advocacy department in the production and finalisation of communications products.
- Support the planning and implementation of advocacy campaigns and events.
- Monitoring media coverage relevant to PAWA254’s strategic priority areas.
- Assist in managing PAWA254’s external communications, including website and social media platforms and monthly newsletters.
- Other duties as assigned by the Advocacy & Communications Manager.
Skills & Requirements
- Recent graduate or currently enrolled.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Applications.
- Experience in social media management.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills, English and Kiswahili.
- Demonstrated interest in human rights, arts, and youth empowerment.
- Undestanding of production, graphic design, multimedia, and photography standards.
- Excellent time management, multi-tasking and organisational skills.
- Digital storytelling knowledge and content creation skills.
- Creative problem solving and inclusive collaboration.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
