Job Purpose
The purpose of this internship is to provide support in the management of intermediary and direct insurance business transactions, including bancassurance, agency, broker, and other distribution channels within the general insurance operations. The intern will gain practical experience in policy issuance, reconciliations, claims processing, renewals, and customer support while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the management of intermediary accounts and microfinance transactions, ensuring accurate processing and adherence to company policies.
- Support the processing and verification of business transactions through proper debiting and assist in issuance of policy covers and motor certificates while maintaining proper documentation.
- Support claims processing by verifying documentation and coordinating with relevant stakeholders at the branch level to facilitate timely settlements.
- Assist in preparing both motor and non-motor insurance quotations to support the sales team and clients.
- Work closely with Unit Managers and the Direct Sales Force and other intermediaries to support policy issuance and customer engagement.
- Assist in issuing valuation letters for insurance purposes while ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Support the preparation and dispatch of renewal notices to relevant stakeholders.
- Assist in processing reinstatements and suspensions of policies in accordance with company policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
Educational and Professional Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance, Business Management or a related field.
- A Diploma in Insurance or progress towards ACII/IIK will be an added advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, and good communication skills.
