The Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ), or Office of the Ombudsman of Kenya, is a constitutional commission established under Article 59(4) of the Constitution and the CAJ Act of 2011. It tackles maladministration (abuse of power, unfair treatment, delay) in the public sector and enforces the Access to Information Act, 2016.

Your Role
Duties and responsibilities for this position will entail:
- Assist in receiving and Reviewing applications on Access to Information
- Assist in conducting inquiries into alleged violations of the ATI Act
- Providing support during ATI hearings
- Assist in undertaking onsite inspections and relevant information inventories
- Assist in preparing summons, orders and other legal instruments under ATI Act
- Assist in undertaking relevant researches aimed at developing repository on ATI determinations, advisories and case law
- Participating in development of regulatory framework on ATI Act including relevant regulations, policies, guidelines, rules, model laws
- Assist in providing technical support to public entities and private bodies on implementation of the ATI Act through awareness, sensitization, training and guidance
- Assist in receiving and assessing public entities' reports on ATI implementation
- Participating in preparation of relevant guidance on ATI including advisories
- Any other duty assigned by the Commission from time to time
Requirements
For appointment to this position, a candidate must have;
- A Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognized institution
CLEARANCE/COMPLIANCE CERTIFICATES
Successful candidates will be required to provide copies of clearance or compliance certificates.
