Accounts/Finance Internship at Plexus Energy

Plexus Energy Limited is a leading Kenyan renewable energy company based in Nairobi, specializing in solar PV installation, power backup solutions, and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) services.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Intern to support the Finance team in day-to-day accounting operations. The intern will gain hands-on experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, payables, receivables, and general accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in processing accounts payable and receivable transactions
• Support bank and ledger reconciliations
• Help maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
• Assist in invoice preparation, posting, and filing
• Support monthly closing processes and reporting
• Assist in expense tracking and cost allocation
• Participate in stock/inventory reconciliation (if applicable)
• Support audit preparation by organizing documentation
• Perform data entry and verification in accounting systems (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or similar)
• Assist with tax compliance support tasks (VAT, withholding tax, etc.)
• Carry out any other duties assigned by the Finance team

Qualifications & Requirements

• Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
• CPA (Part I or II) is an added advantage
• Basic understanding of accounting principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets
• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks) is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Strong willingness to learn and take initiative
