About Company
The Commission for University Education (CUE) seeks to recruit dynamic, result-oriented, competent and self-driven individual for the position of:
ACCOUNTANT-JOB GRADE CUE 6

a) Job Specifications
Duties and responsibilities will entail:
i. Facilitating reconciliation of the various ledgers;
ii. Facilitating preparation of various financial reports and budgets and online submission of reports;
iii. Preparing annual, quarterly, monthly trial balance reports;
iv. Maintaining the fixed asset register;
v. Advising on assets that need revaluation and those that have been fully depreciated;
vi. Participating in preparation of periodic budget(s);
vii. Maintaining and updating the vote book entries;
viii. Capturing income and expenditure data in the accounting system;
ix. Identifying officers with outstanding balances and ascertain closing balances at the end of every month;
x. Processing statutory deductions for timely submission to comply with the regulations;
xi. Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual expenditure reports for review by the management;
xii. Preparing periodic outstanding imprest reports, cash flow reports to assist in decision making;
xiii. Undertaking bank reconciliations;
xiv. Verifying and examining payment vouchers and staff imprest warrants;
xv. Accounting for project funds including the preparation of donor fund expenditure analysis reports for review by management;
xvi. Maintaining and controlling financial documents by filing and storing financial reports for future retrieval and reference; and
xvii. Maintaining accounting documents.
b) Persons Specifications
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: –
i. Bachelors Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Business Management (Finance option) or other relevant and equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;
ii. Proficiency in computer applications; and
iii. Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
