Lab Intern
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in reception, labeling, processing, storage, and transport of biological specimens according to study protocols and SOPs
- Support preparation of laboratory reagents, consumables, and materials required for daily laboratory activities
- Assist in performing routine laboratory procedures, point-of-care diagnostic tests, centrifugation, liquating, and packaging of study specimens under supervision
- Maintain accurate specimen logs, laboratory forms, study documentation, and support laboratory data entry and verification
- Ensure proper labeling, identification, storage conditions, temperature monitoring, and cold chain management of study samples
- Support cleaning, organization, maintenance, routine equipment checks, calibration, and inventory management of laboratory supplies and equipment
- Ensure proper segregation, handling, and disposal of laboratory waste in compliance with biosafety guidelines
- Adhere to GCLP, GCP, SOPs, study protocols, confidentiality standards, and participate in trainings, mentorship, and quality improvement activities
Vacancy Requirements:
- Must have graduated with Bachelor’s Degree training in Medical Laboratory Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, or related field
- Recent graduate or student eligible for internship attachment
- Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures and biosafety practices
- Computer literacy and basic data entry skills
- Willingness to learn and work within a clinical research environment
- Good organizational and record management skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Ability to work within multidisciplinary teams
- Willingness to learn and take guidance
