AkiraChix codeHive Technical Training Program 2025

codeHive is the AkiraChix signature program. It is a one-year fully sponsored residential hands-on technical training program. It provides education and economic opportunity to young women between 19 and 24 years from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds who have completed high school but are unable to further their education due to financial constraints.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must meet these minimum requirements after completing high school:
- Be a young women between the ages of 19 and 24 years.
- Completed High School no later than Dec 2023.
- Possess a high school results slip (KCSE, CSEE, UACE, ESSLCE, MSCE, GCE, & Rwanda Advanced Certificate of Education).
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Be a citizen of Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia or come from the refugee communities in Kenya.
- Have either a National ID or Alien ID of your respective country of origin.
- A recommendation letter from an authority figure, known to you who is not a relative.
- Available full-time to live and learn in the AkiraChix Campus from January to December 2025
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
- Scored a mean grade of C+ and above in KCSE and the equivalent
- Scored at least a C+ and above in Maths, English, Chemistry and/or Physics. Use the grade checker to find out if you meet the required points.
Required Documents
Results slip or KCSE certificate. The documents should be uploaded as a JPEG(Black and white).
APPLICATION PROCESS
There are 5 stages in the application process. Candidates who successfully complete each stage will proceed with the application process. After every stage, you will receive a message notifying you if you are successful or not.
Stage 1: Demographic evaluation
This is the first screening stage. All applicants’ documents are verified. This stage also contains 3 essay questions that evaluate the applicant’s motivation for joining the codeHive program. Any applicant whose responses that are plagiarized are disqualified from the application process.
Stage 2: Academic screening
All applicants are evaluated based on their academic eligibility. Please read the academic requirements before beginning the application process.
Stage 3: General Aptitude Test
- The test is 60 mins. Once you start, you have to complete in one sitting
- The test evaluates problem solving and critical thinking
- Each link is unique. You cannot use the link more than once or share it with another person
- The test is graded and determines whether you proceed to the next stage.
- The test is automated to detect plagiarism or any form of cheating.
Stage 4: Interview stage
This is the last stage in the application process. All applicants who successfully complete stage 4 are invited for a one on one interview with the recruitment committee.
