Real Estate Research Internship

Cytonn Asset Managers Limited (CAML) is a regulated Fund Manager by the Capital Markets Authority and the Retirement Benefits Authority. The company is also a licensed Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) Manager under the Capital Markets Authority. Our objective is to offer superior risk-adjusted investment returns to our clients through investments in both the public and alternative investments markets. The fund manager provides Cytonn Money Market Fund (CMMF) (https://cytonn.com/asset-managers/money-market-fund), one of the high yielding money market funds in Kenya, which is fully automated for our retail investors.

CAML investors include global and local institutional investors, individual retail investors, and diaspora investors.

To manage its rapid growth, the company is looking for highly motivated, dynamic, hardworking and self-driven team players to join the team as Research and Deal Origination Interns in the Research and Deal Origination Department.

Responsibilities

1. Undertaking Real Estate market research for site identification, site acquisition and business case preparation.
2. Data collection and analysis on sales trends and consumer demographics, preferences, needs and buying habits in the real estate industry.
3. Real Estate financial modeling and data analysis.
4. Assisting with conducting research using comparable properties sold in an area and investigating potential issues that affect value such as the title of the property by ensuring an up to date database of all property comparables as provided by the real estate team.
5. Consulting and coordinating with agents in gathering property photos, staging, repairs, cleaning, signage, access requirements & marketing activities including property listings, assisting prospective clients, accompany clients to property site, discuss conditions of sale, and drawing up real estate contracts.
6. Promoting sales of properties through advertisements and participation in listing services, either directly or via agents.
7. Coordinating the preparation and assembly of documents for presentations and meetings.
8. Communicating between multiple departments and coordinating internal and external meetings.
9. Tracking and reporting on various initiatives at the direction of the Research and Deal Origination team.
10. Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time

Requirements

1. KCSE B+ or equivalent.
2. Bachelor’s degree, minimum of Second Class, Upper division.
3. Strong communication skills (both written and oral).
4. Strong organizational and time management skills -ability to adhere to deadlines.
5. Innovative and solution oriented individuals.
6. Ability to cope under pressure and work within a fast pace environment.
7. Ability to build relationships internally and externally.
