The Africa E-Mobility Alliance (AfEMA) is a nonprofit organisation working to accelerate the adoption of sustainable electric mobility across Africa. We unite diverse partners to promote an affordable, accessible, and environmentally sustainable e-mobility ecosystem through policy, market, and knowledge practice initiatives.
Overview
Join our team to help build and maintain AfEMA’s data portal, a critical resource providing visibility into e-mobility developments across Africa. This role balances technical development with research tasks, offering exposure to both technical implementation and content creation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of AfEMA’s e-mobility data portal
- Collect, clean, and organise e-mobility data from various African markets
- Assist in creating data visualisations and interactive features for the portal
- Help maintain website functionality and implement new features
- Collaborate with the research team to ensure data accuracy and relevance
- Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge products
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently finalised a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proficiency in web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Experience with data visualisation tools and libraries
- Basic understanding of database management
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated interest in sustainable transportation, e-mobility, or renewable energy
- Understanding of AI tools and responsible AI usage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data analytics platforms and visualisation tools
- Knowledge of content management systems
- Understanding of UX/UI design principles
- Familiarity with African transportation or energy sectors
- Experience with API integration
