ForumCiv office in Kenya serves as the regional office for Eastern and Southern Africa (ESA), coordinating sub-granting in the region and developing new partnerships, innovative programmes, and local engagement with donors. Most of the region’s interventions focus on civil society strengthening and deepening democracy, human rights, and gender equality. The office works with a broad range of partners and stakeholders at grassroots, national, regional, and global levels.

Your Role

  • Under the supervision of the Communication Officer, the C4D Intern will be responsible for the following duties.
  • Assist with drafting and publishing of articles, photos, graphics and multimedia elements related to the programme as required
  • Assist with conceptualising campaigns and social media activations
  • Contribute to the drafting and updating of social media materials and digital products
  • Assist with design, editing, and production of graphic materials to support online and offline communications
  • Provide general administrative support including taking meeting minutes, setting up meetings and conference calls, etc.
  • Support communications projects and campaigns as they arise, including conducting research and summarising relevant information
  • Assist with event planning and production
  • Support the programmes team with planning and implementation of activities/processes
  • Assists in the preparation of grant management activities including compliance visits together with the Programme teams
  • Assist with logistical and administrative arrangements relating to the implementation of programme activities
  • Support in the planning and implementing activities as outlined in approved work plans and coordinating completion of activity deliverables.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor and line Manager.

Requirements

  • Relevant academic degree in international development, communications, social sciences, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Interest in programme/project management and administration and management in the development sector.
  • Analytical and writing skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to learn and share knowledge
  • Strong supportive and service-minded attitude
  • High sense of responsibility and commitment
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent ability to express oneself orally and in writing in English.
