Child Rights And Business Systems & Data Analyst (Internship)

We are seeking a Systems & Data Analyst – Intern to support the development and maintenance of CRMRS dashboards, optimize data pipelines, support in the development of a new machine learning and AI tool to predict the likelihood of child labour increasing in communities before it actually occurs, and drive data-driven decision-making for child rights and business projects. This role is ideal for early-career professionals with a strong academic background in data science, business intelligence, or related fields who seek to transition into the international development sector.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance the CRMRS dashboards for tracking and reporting on Child Rights and Business (CRB) projects.
  • Support the development of a new machine learning and AI tool to predict the likelihood of child labour increasing in communities before it actually occurs.
  • Optimize data pipelines and integrate CRMRS with other digital solutions via API connections.
  • Manage role-based access control for dashboards while ensuring data security and compliance.
  • Support monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) by analyzing data to generate actionable insights.
  • Present insights and reports to stakeholders, contributing to strategic decision-making.
  • Support the development of data governance policies and ensure compliance with international data protection standards.
  • Provides technical guidance on data architecture, analytics, and business intelligence.

Required Skills

This position will be recruited as an intern, and will require:

  • Strong analytical skills and Skilled in Power BI, Excel, R, SPSS, and SAS for data cleaning, transformation, and statistical analysis.
  • Knowledge of Python for data analysis and automation.
  • Familiarity with database management (PostgreSQL, MySQL).
  • Understanding of API development and data integration between platforms.
  • Awareness of machine learning and predictive analytics for risk assessments.
  • Interest in child protection, human rights, and ethical business practices.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to present complex data to non-technical audiences.
  • Proactive, creative and out-of-the-box thinking

Required conditions

Training/Qualifications

Minimum bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, information management, statistics, actuarial science or a related field.

Experience:

1 year of experience as a data analyst

Languages: 

English, French will be an added advantage

IT know-how

Experience in digital systems administration is a plus.

Knowledge in data quality and compliance with international data protection standards.
