About Company
The African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) is an African-led research institution that produces evidence to inform policies and programs related to health and development in sub-Saharan Africa.
APHRC is implementing the M-CARE project, a trial addressing multimorbidity, defined as the co-occurrence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and common mental health conditions. The study evaluates an integrated care model to improve the management of cardiometabolic conditions (including hypertension and diabetes) and mental health conditions (including depression, anxiety disorders, and substance use), and to assess the model’s acceptability, feasibility, and effectiveness.
APHRC seeks to recruit Health Facility Assessment Interviewers to support data collection in Murang’a County, Kenya, scheduled for April 2026. Applicants residing in Murang’a County are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend all scheduled training sessions, pilots, and debrief meetings.
- Obtain informed consent and conduct interviews using digital data collection tools.
- Verify and submit completed interviews daily.
- Safeguard data collection equipment during fieldwork.
- Adhere to ethical and safeguarding protocols.
- Maintain flexibility to accommodate participant schedules and follow-ups.
- Complete assigned daily activities and submit field reports.
- Report field challenges promptly to the research team.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum and Desired Qualifications
- KCSE certificate with a minimum grade of C (plain).
- Demonstrated experience in quantitative data collection in health facility settings.
- Proficiency in electronic data capture platforms (e.g., SurveyCTO, REDCap).
- Strong attention to detail and data quality standards.
- Fluency in English and Swahili (spoken and written).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to adhere to research ethics and protocols.
- Availability to work full-time for the study period.
- Residence in or origin from Murang’a County is an added advantage
