The Nairobi Rivers Commission (NRC) is seeking energetic and self-motivated Kenyan citizens for twenty (20) Clerk of Works Intern positions. As an intern, you’ll assist in the River Regeneration Project, contributing to site supervision, environmental compliance, progress tracking, and more.ย This five-month internship, based in Nairobi, offers a valuable opportunity to contribute to the restoration of the Nairobi Rivers Basin, ending June 30th, 2026, with a stipend as per government guidelines. The Nairobi Rivers Commission (NRC) was established via Kenya Gazette Notice No. 13907 to coordinate the restoration and beautification of the Nairobi Rivers Basin. The NRC is pleased to recruit interns under FY 2025/2026, energetic, and self-motivated Kenyans for twenty (20) internship positions under the River Regeneration Project.

Position: Clerk of Works Intern
No. of Positions: 20
Duty Station: NRC / River Regeneration Project Sites (Nairobi)
Duration: Five (5) Months (Ending 30th June 2026)
Stipend: As per prevailing Government/PSC guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in daily site supervision and monitoring of river regeneration activities.
- Document environmental and safety compliance at project sites.
- Track project progress and participate in site inspections.
Requirements for Appointment
To be eligible, an applicant must:
- Be a Kenyan Citizen.
- Have graduated in the year 2019 or later.
- Hold a Degree / Diploma in any of the following fields from a recognized institution:
- Civil Engineering
- Building Construction / Construction Management
- Environmental Engineering / Environmental Studies
- Information Communication Technology (ICT)
- Accounts and Finance
- or related field
- Be proficient in computer applications.
- Possess strong communication and teamwork skills and be able to work under field conditions.
- Those living within the Nairobi River Corridors will have an added advantage.
