The Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) is a state corporation established through the Science and Technology (Amendment) Act of 1979, which has since been amended to Science, Technology and Innovation Act 2013 as the national body responsible for carrying out health research in Kenya.

Office & Research Administration Assistant โ€“ Trainee – Nairobi

Key responsibilities

  • Coordination of the activities that facilitate the efficient management of the of the program, the team and its operations
  • Typing, compiling and preparing reports, presentations and correspondence
  • Administrative and logistical support for meetings and events, including stakeholder meetings, advocacy meetings/events, trainings /workshops in different regions
  • Supporting the study with key projects activities, including follow up on IRB approvals eg PPB.
  • Maintaining comprehensive and accurate records
  • Draft correspondence such as emails and letters
  • Taking accurate and comprehensive notes at meetings
  • Support preparation of presentations

Vacancy Requirements:

  1. Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Social Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, or Finance and Administration
  2. Strong analytical ability, planning, and organizational skills
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Ability to work with multi-skilled teams.
  5. High level organizational and time management skills to organize own work, to establish priorities, urgency and meet deadlines.
  6. Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  7. Interest in Research, Bioethics, training and capacity building
  8. A high level of integrity
