Blooming Africa is a Kenya-based horticultural nursery and exporter located in Gilgil, specializing in growing and exporting high-quality cut flowers for the global market.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Accountant to manage financial operations for a crop project. The role involves tracking project costs, ensuring financial accountability, and supporting decision-making through accurate reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage project budgets for production.
- Monitor and control costs related to planting, inputs, labor, and harvesting.
- Maintain accurate financial records specific to the project.
- Conduct cost analysis and profitability reporting per crop cycle.
- Oversee procurement records and ensure compliance with financial procedures.
- Prepare periodic financial reports. (weekly, monthly, seasonal)
- Support audits and ensure compliance with statutory and company requirements.
- Work closely with the General Manager to align financial planning with production targets.
- Monitor inventory usage. (fertilizers, chemicals, bulbs, etc.)
About you
Experience, Qualification and desired competencies for the position:
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, or related field.
- CPA (K) or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 year experience in accounting, preferably in agriculture or horticulture.
- Experience in cost accounting or project accounting is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- High level of integrity and accountability
