The Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy is hiring ten Photojournalist/Videographer II positions in Kenya at the State Department for Broadcasting and Telecommunications. You will capture and process images, document events through photography, and provide technical darkroom services. Basic Salary Scale: Ksh 36,200 p.m - Ksh 47,900 p.m. (CSG 11)
House Allowance: Ksh 5,800 p.m. - Ksh 10,000 p.m.
Commuter Allowance: Ksh 4,000 p.m.
Leave allowance: As provided in the Civil Service
Annual Leave: 30 working days per financial year
Medical Cover: As provided by the government
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
Qualification Requirements
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a Bachelors Degree in Photojournalism/Photography from a university recognized in Kenya.
Duties and Responsibilities
This will be the entry and training grade for degree holders in this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will include:-
(i) taking and processing of photographs;
(ii) documenting news, information and features through photography;
(iii) providing darkroom services;
(iv) scanning, digitizing photographs and caption writing;
(v) producing copy negatives;
(vi) taking portrait photographs; and
(vii) enlarging photographs and mounting them for exhibitions.
