Registered Nurse Internships at Tharaka Nithi County Government

Tharaka Nithi County Public Service Board (CPSB) is a body corporate established under Section 57 of the County Governments Act, 2012 pursuant to Article 235 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010. Section 59 of the County Governments Act 2012 outlines the functions of the CPSB among them being "appoint persons to hold or act in offices of the county public service including in the Boards of cities and urban areas within the county and to confirm appointments.

The Tharaka Nithi County Public Service Board wishes to advertise the following twenty-five (25) positions externally on various terms of service in the Department of Public Health and Medical Services.

Registered Nurse [3] - Intern, Job Group "H" - Twenty-five (25) Posts

Requirements for appointment

1. Be a Kenyan citizen;
2. Be a holder of a Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution
3. Be registered by Nursing Council of Kenya
4. Possess a valid Practicing License from Nursing Council of Kenya
5. Must be computer literate

Duties and responsibilities

The Registered Nurse Intern shall be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following;

1. Offering Nursing Services depending on the level of care deployed;
2. Guiding and counseling patients, clients and staff on health issues;
3. Referring patients and clients to appropriate health facilities;
4. Coaching and mentoring students on attachment;
5. Organizing health management teams and convening health management committee meetings;
6. Collecting and compiling data for research on nursing services issues;
7. Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor.

Terms of Service: One (1) Year Contract
