JUNIOR TECHNICAL OFFICER – VEG
HEAD OFFICE – NAIROBI 

Job objective:
To provide technical support in ensuring compliance with food safety, product quality, legality, authenticity, and customer specifications. The role also supports shelf-life analysis, customer complaints investigations, cool chain control, and maintenance of the Vegetable Manager database.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage finished product specifications, NPD/EPD documentation, and database updates
• Conduct inspections on packaging materials, labels, and raw materials against approved specifications.
• Investigate and track customer complaints, claims, and product returns.
• Conduct daily shelf-life analysis and compile related reports.
• Support new product development activities, product sampling, and packaging management.
• Carry out periodic pack house, airport, and store inspections to assess compliance and product performance.
• Conduct avocado cut test assessments and circulate reports.

Qualifications and Key Competence:

• Bachelor’s degree in food science or a related field.
• Experience in a pack house or factory environment will be an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of food safety and quality assurance systems.
• Fully computer literate with strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and coordination abilities.
• Ability to work independently and within teams.
