Fleet & Logistics Assistant at Nyandarua County Government

The Nyandarua County Public Service Board invites applications from suitably qualified, competent, and experienced persons to fill the following vacant positions in the County Government of Nyandarua's COUNTY SECRETARY AND HEAD OF PUBLIC SERVICE

FLEET AND LOGISTICS ASSISTANT III, JOB GROUP 'H' - ONE (1) POST

Terms of Service: Five (5) year renewable contract with a provision to translate to permanent and pensionable.

Duties and Responsibilities:

(i) Vehicle Maintenance and Services;
(ii) Ensure that scheduled services for all fleet vehicles are completed on time and in accordance with county policies and approved government procedures;
(iii) Research and verify that service and repair costs are competitive with market prices to ensure cost-effectiveness;
(iv) Monitor and ensure that all contracted repairs are completed satisfactorily and meet quality standards;

Driver Supervision:

(i) Supervise and support all drivers, providing guidance and addressing any driver-related issues that arise;

Compliance and Audits:

(i) Ensure all vehicle repairs and services comply with approved frameworks and safety standards;
(ii) Conduct monthly vehicle audits to assess operational vehicles and identify any that are grounded or in need of further attention;

Documentation and Reporting:

(i) Maintain accurate records of vehicle services, repairs, and audits to provide transparency and accountability;
(ii) Prepare reports on fleet performance, service costs, and audit findings for management review.

Requirements:

(i) Diploma in Operations and Dispatch, Fleet Management, Logistics, Transport Management or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
(ii) Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution.
