Role Purpose Statement:
Under the general direction and guidance of the Head of Line Maintenance, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for carrying out and certifying servicing, repair, and replacement tasks on aircraft and aircraft systems in accordance with KCAA and Jambojet regulations. This role is crucial for maintaining high safety standards and schedule integrity while optimizing costs for the business.
Accountability
Ensuring training compliance and competency-based skills development through closely monitoring. scheduling and reporting personnel training in accordance with the approved training manual.
Authority
To make decisions on risk tolerability when safety risks and security threats are acceptable in maintenance operations. Refer to SMSM Chapter 2
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure day-to-day administration of maintenance training program across the AMO and stakeholders on behalf of the responsible managers.
- Liaise with instructors, approved training organizations and other stakeholders in consultation with the Head of Quality.
- Communicate and coordinate with operational managers on matters concerning training.
- Ensure appropriate corrective or preventive actions that address relevant compliance and/or conformity issues have been implemented and are being monitored for effectiveness.
- Schedules, coordinate and facilitate the training for personnel and subsequently follow up on trainee training records and licences/authorizations, update the individual files and Qpulse system, and track expiries.
- To disseminate information to all personnel (management and non-management personnel) as appropriate to ensure an organizational awareness of relevant training issues.
- Completes training needs assessment to develop individualized training approach in alignment with Jambojet maintenance function needs
- Issues routine progress and activity reports Maintains and updates the curriculum database and records
- Ensures training documentation retention adheres to the approved training manual
- Participates in programs during audits and technical meetings
- Coordinates implementation of the training budget with the respective departments.
Know-How:
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Authority's requirements. and be able to ensure training content is compliant.
- Management Skills: Able to manage training schedules, trainers / assessors, venues, training tools & supplies; maintain accurate training documentation, records of competencies, certificates, renewal dates; budget oversight for training.
- Human Relations Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with maintenance engineers, supervisors, regulatory bodies, external training organizations; ability to motivate, mentor, and manage trainees and instructors.
- Specialized Knowledge: In-depth understanding of aviation maintenance regulations and standards

Qualifications:
- Education: Minimum of Diploma or degree in the relevant engineering discipline from a recognized university.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in aircraft maintenance and engineering. Relevant customer service or airline industry certifications are advantageous.
