The Siaya National Polytechnic (TSNP) Is A Public TVET Institution Operating Under the TVET Act No. 29 of 2013 In the State Department of Vocational and Technical Training, Ministry of Education, Kenya. It is situated in Siaya Town along the Siaya-Rang'ala Road.

The Siaya National Polytechnic (TSNP) invites applications from suitably qualified and individuals with excellent credentials to fill the following vacant position on the terms and conditions listed below: -

Trainer - Computing & Informatics Department

Terms of service: One (1) year contract renewable subject to satisfactory performance

Requirements for Appointment

Position 1: ICT Trainer (Bachelor's Degree Holder) - One (1) Position

For appointment to this position, a candidate must have: -

1. Degree in any of the following disciplines: Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Bachelor of Science in Information Communication Technology or Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
2. Should have a background training in Competency-Based Education (CBET)
3. An applicant in possession of Pedagogy and TVETA Registration and Licensing will have an added advantage.
4. Demonstrated competence in ICT instruction, practical training, and learner assessment.
5. Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
6. One who is reliable and of high integrity.
7. Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Undertaking training in areas of specialization in accordance with the syllabus.
2. Preparing teaching/learning materials and schemes of work.
3. Setting and marking examination/assignment.
4. Supervision of trainees on attachment.
5. Instructing, guiding and evaluation of trainees in practical exercises.
6. Reporting progress and overall performance of individual trainees.
7. Participating in development of curriculum and training programmes.
8. Undertaking/ carrying out research work under the guidance and supervision of a senior trainer.
9. Deliver competency-based training in ICT programmes.
10. Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, and assessment materials.
11. Maintain training records and workshop/laboratory equipment.

Position 2: ICT Trainer (Diploma Holder) - One (1) Position

For appointment to this position, a candidate must have: -

1. Diploma in Information Communication Technology, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field from a recognized institution.
2. An applicant in possession of Pedagogy and TVETA Registration and Licensing will have an added advantage.
3. An applicant skilled in Co-curricular activities that complement classroom learning and help students develop practical skills for instance, drama and theatre will have an added advantage.
4. Demonstrated practical skills in ICT training and laboratory/workshop management.
5. Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Support the delivery of competency-based practical training.
2. Prepare and maintain ICT laboratories and training equipment.
3. Assist in learner assessment and supervision during practical sessions.
4. Maintain accurate training and equipment records.
5. Support curriculum implementation and departmental activities.
6. Perform any other duties assigned by the institution.
